Post nasal drip and Sinusitis question... (Allergies board)

31st May 2003
Hi I first had a sinus infection when I was 14 (12 years ago) and a second when I was 20 (6 years ago) and never had another one... I haven't even had a cold for the last 3 years now...

My question is once you have had sinusitis problems, does that mean it stays with you forever? After the second sinus problem 6 years ago, I got the post nasal drip and it never went away. Does this mean I still have sinusitis? My wife thinks I have allergies (that I refuse to admit) I don't have any allergy symptoms to anything. Last year, our family doc gave me cefzil and allegra but it only raised my pulse rate. So I quit.

I am asking this because allergies and sinusitis are a NO-NO for military service which I am about to apply. Can normal people have post nasal drip? Can sinusitis leave a mark or something that military doctors can see if I don't tell them?

I started using salt-water solution and I blow my nose more often. Plus I drink more than 64 oz. of water everyday.

Thanks for your advice...
