I was on beta blocker to lower heart rate but made me to sleepy. Now Dr gave me Cartia XT (dilitiazem I think) and I am to scared to start it. For one thing I am reading calcium channel blockers are not good and I am horrified of side effects such as a migraine, sleepiness, lethargy etc. Can anyone tell me their experiences with BP med. My BP has been running 140/80 with heart rate of about 100 to 110,120. I don't like capsules I would just as soon have a tablet that I could start with just half dosage. I am just plain scared and to be honest probably won't start the med.
