I was on Cardura for several years and then went to a new urologist who put me on Flomax. I still had urgency problems and the Flomax seemed to give me a runny nose and a congested throat. I still was up several times at night. About 9 months ago I went back on the generic Cardura and since then I have stopped my runny nose and throat problems and was not getting up as often at night.
Also about six months ago I read about a Uro who put her patient on natural progesteron cream for his BPH. He was to rub the cream on his scrotum. She said after about six months he had no more problems with BPH. Don't remember the details.
Well, I had been on progesteron cream for osteoporosis for over a year at that time. I usually put it on my face.
Even with taking Cardura, (Flomax was worse) I had urgency problems, a weak flow and dripping after peeing. Seemed the valve would take forever to close. I figured I had nothing to lose since I was already using the cream, so I started rubbing part of the cream on my scrotum and after awhile I noticed that I had a much better flow and did not have the urgency problems. Still have the dripping at the end, but I don't think it is as bad. I get up maybe once at night, and then only because I wake up and think it is a good idea. Sometimes I sleep right throught the night without waking up.
You do have to shave your scrotum. The cream should be applied on a place with no or little hair.
I am to have a dexascan soon and will know if the cream is helping my osteroporosis. It did help my wife's. I did not want to go on Fosomax or the other ostero drugs. Tried it once and it was nasty. The cream is available in Health Food Stores. Al
