   swollen ankles (Heart Disorders board)

lorrie,
His other choice for pvc's might be beta-blockers (or magnesium.)
The swelling is most probably the result of the cardizem, it's common. Unfortunately it't different from normal edema and diuretics often don't do a thing for it.

A trial without the cardizem is a good idea.

My husband has asthma and has had it all of his life plus last year he had the top lobe of his lung removed due to LC (BTW he is a non smoker) So a beta blocker is out of the question. I have taken inderal for 30 years and have since been switched to a long lasting beta blocker for a rapid heart rate and I know they are the best drugs and the doc would like to put my husband on it also but it would do more harm then good. We have been told that a beta blocker might be out soon for people with breating problems.
Lorrie
