Circumcision at age 10 (Children's Health board)

6th November 2006
It is very rare to have the sort of side effect you describe in a non-infant circumcision. It only happens if too much skin has been removed to allow the penis to expand without pain. It's much harder to judge how much skin to remove on an infant and some horror stories do happen with infant circumcision, perhaps most notably the sad case of Australian Shane Petersen, who suffered a lot of pain and anguish and eventually successfully sued for $360,000.
What was the reason for a circumcision at 10? If it was a tight foreskin was Betamethasone cream offered and some attempt at stretching made before proceeding with the surgery?
Best wishes,
Geoff
