I've had acne for 5 years. Mostly pustules and blackheads, very few whiteheads and the occasional cysts, all located on my face, neck, back, shoulders, and chest. Benzoyl Peroxide, Salicylic Acid, Retin-A, Benzamycin and Doxycycline have all failed to clear my skin. I have a dermatologist appointment soon (I had been getting prescriptions from my GP) and I was wondering what to expect. With retinoids, oral and topical antibiotics, and otc products all failing to treat my acne, what will I get prescribed? Is it considered rude to specifically ask a derm for Accutane?
