Delighted that Clenia is working for you. What exactly is it? Is it a topical or a cleanser? What type of acne have you got? Coz I think mine is hormonal.

I'm currently using Benzamycin and its okay but it doesn't work on spots around the time of month- its ineffective then! I'm always looking for alternatives, I've ordered Herpanacine so I'll let you know how that goes...

Its a foaming wash (though it doesn't actually foam!!) and is prescription only.

I don't know what type of acne I have - it could be hormonal (as my derm says) or it could be food related.

I've been on Adoxa for a few months but recently, after a few nights of drinking and eating, i completely broke out SO bad - lumps under the skin, about 7 cysts and really greasy, irritated looking skin. The Clenia has really kept in under check and the cysts are slowly disappearing.

Even though my derm says its hormonal, I'm convinced its food related - but maybe I just eat all the unhealthy foods when i'm hormonal that its the HORMONES at the root of the problem - I just don't know.

Have you tried peroxide? My derm said its the single most effective substance for acne and the only substance that actually penetrates pores. It sucks that I can't use it :(

Anyway, Good luck with Herpanacine I hope you find a some success.
