Okay maybe a bit late but....

I have had luck with using Benzac AC 5% -- if you have something special on the next day you can reduce the pimple(s) quite a bit by rubbing some on constantly the day before. Just on the same bit over and over whenever you think of it, and rub a glob on lastly before you go to sleep.

Usually it's quite flat and dry the day after, if not gone.

I wouldn't do it everyday, but it's good for those special occassions when you want to look your best.
