I'm male, just turned 51. I was diagnosed w/ADD 2 years ago. I was also diagnosed with early prostate cancer. I had a prostatectomy and put any ADD treatment on hold. This fall I started Strattera, 40 mg/day (in the morning). I had started high blood pressure medication (now 40 mg Benicar and 10 mg Dynacirc) in the summer. So where does that leave me?
Sexual response has been slower since my surgery. The erection nerves were spared (and all the cancer is gone, apparently) and erections happen later than sooner but they still happen. After prostate removal there's no semen so I can't comment on leakage. I am fully continent, however. Arousal is even a little slower since I began the meds but I can't be sure which to attribute it to, and since the ADD and blood pressure are both much improved I'm not looking to change anything. My orgasms are pretty much the same as pre-surgery (minus the ejaculation of course) and pre-meds; if anything, it may be a little more intense than before.
I have had a little dizzyness and the feeling that my engine (brain) is idling higher than it used to. The dizzyness could be a side effect of any of the meds and is only brief and has occurred maybe 5-6 times in 3 months.
