A couple of years ago I had a bad reaction to amoxicillin. I started itching everywhere and broke out in small hives on my neck, shoulders, and chest. My blood pressure went high (195/100) and I started shaking in a spastic way. Since I have an adrenal tumor and didn't know what was going on, I went to the local emergency room. The doctor there had me take benadryl and one of the stomache acid meds and everything settled down after a couple of hours.

My question---is it typical to have high blood pressure during an allergic reaction? I thought an allergic reaction would cause blood pressure to go low.
