I know that Diphenhydramine knocks me out good.. it's the same ingredient as Benadryl. Yes, rapid heartbeat can be a side effect, it's not dangerous but can be annoying. I haven't had the other drug so I can't say for sure. Most OTC meds will not show up in a drug test unless they are specifically looking for it.
