Need help fast!!!! (ADD - Attention Deficit Disorder board)

Yeah...I didn't think that splitting it would be good and really had no intention of doing so without speaking to my Doc first. That time release stuff is a little tricky. I'll have to do a search on meds like Straterra and such. Again, I appreciate your reply. It's good to have somewhere to come to for support from people who have actually been there. I see the Doc in 3 days and will speak to her then. In the meantime, I'll just stick to the Benadryl to sleep and stick out the rest of the side effects.
Have a good one.

Did something wrong here. I just replied, a pretty lengthy one, but it didn't post for some reason. So...now you get the Readers Digest version...you lucked out. I wouldn't really split the cap becasue time released is pretty tricky. Will see Doc in 3 days and ask her. In the meantime, will stick to Benadryl to get sleep and stick out the other side effects. However, I don't seem to get that "High" feeling everyone gets. I get zoned and I don't like it.
Have a good one.
Didn't turn out to be the short version after all. :)
Have a good night and thanks again. Now, my friend, I'm going to dinner.

I used Tylenol PM or a Nitol type thing. I remember my sleepless tritation period. It was horrible. I stuck it out and I'm over the hump and kinda glad I did. I'd try the Tylenol PM, Benadryl or a Nitol thing... maybe a glass of milk before bed with it. (Personal prefrence)

The XR capsules have 2 types of "pellets" (kinda like a Dexatrim capsule). One is an immediate release and the other is the extended release. Opening the capsule and sprinlikng the pellets over applesause has been recommended so splitting a dose in a similar manor shouldn't be an issue.

The simulants you should see an immediate "effectiveness" effect. The side effects are what you are wanting to subside. Tricky balance too (eventually effectiveness seems to wear down also. I'm seeing that now) It can take a while for the side effects to get to a bearable level. I was about 2 to 3 months. I've been on it for 2 years and all, but the wearing off crash feeling, is totally gone. I sleep like a baby and the jitters are gone.
