Surgery, meds, shots - still congested (Ear, Nose & Throat board)

31st March 2008
Had sinus surgery in 2000. Had another procedure in 2004 to reduce the size of my inferior turbinates (which really helped for about 3 weeks). Have been on allergy shots for several years. Have tried Nasonex, Astelin, Flovent (used as a nasal spray), Rhinocort, Beconase, and every oral antihistamine/decongestant combination known to man.

My allergy doc wants to do a 2nd allergy test to see if he can figure out why I still have the congestion, nasal pressure, headaches and light-headedness. He said the next step will probably be another sinus CT to see if what had been done years ago has since become blocked again.

I have a feeling that I'll be visiting the ENT surgeon at some point again.

The latest attempt at relief involves using NeilMed's sinus rinse, but this time adding Pulmacort (normally used in nebulizers for asthma). He said it's 5 times stronger than Nasonex..which has never worked for me.

Has anyone been on this crazy ride this long? The head aches are almost daily, ALWAYS accompanied by the congestion.

Oh yeah...brain fog comes to visit quite often.
