I've read on the NHS direct website that antibiotics often don't help with sinusitis but you'd have to look it up to be sure.

Actually, antibiotics are a GREAT way to treat sinusitis! The most common sinus infections in adults are streptococcus pneumoniae (about 70%), other strep species (about 10%), and staph aureus (another 10% or so). Specific treatment depends on the particular organism you are dealing with, but first line antibiotics are almost always amoxicillin, penicillin, and erythromycin. Decongestants like Sudafed may be helpful, but they won't take care of the sinus inflammation. Beconase and Nasocort are both anti-inflammatory and decongesting, but you need to go to a doctor for them.

Although this sounds like sinusitis (lack of fever), the symptoms are pretty general and the list of possibilities is more than can be tackled on an internet forum. Best to see your physician if you're still feeling lousy.

I hope you feel better soon!!
