Hey Dawn2,
I have only had the tube in 2 days and already my ear feels so much better. All of the crunching noises have gone along with the pain. I am feeling confident that my ear will cope with descent in an aircraft. I still have the sinus infection but am on antibiotics, I don't think my sinus problems will clear until I have the surgery. I am using saline spray & beconase but the drugs can only do so much.
I had sinus surgery a few months back to remove polyps, the op wasn't too bad compared to say a ceasaerian section - I didn't even realise that I had so much cotton wool packed in there until it was pulled out. The worst part was not being able to blow my nose for about 5 days after the op.
Yes, I can get a little dizzy but my blood pressure is a on the low side and the dizziness is also a side effect of some of the medications I am on.
I can recommend the tube(s) (even after 2 days LOL) and having them done under a local was only about a 3/10 on the pain scale (for me).
I will let you know how the flight goes, this will be the real test of its effectiveness. Stay Tuned :)
