22nd November 2005 anyone using the bayer brand? (the one in the green or silver packaging) is it ok? is it non-coated? 'cause that's the only brand i can find in our local drug store. :) 10th January 2006 Vintagedream,
Aspirin's been in use for hundreds of years, even before Bayer patented it in pill form back in the 1800's. Scientists only recently figured out how it works for headaches and inflamation, so we've been using this drug all along without knowing how it works. But to answer your question, yes, we know how it works. Aspirin is made from salicylic acid, the same ingredient used to treat acne, dandruff, etc. It works similar to glycolic acid by speeding up the sloughing off of dead skin cells, only it's a milder form of acid. Hope this helps. 24th January 2006 wait. what kind of non coated asprin are u guys talkign about? isn't all asprin coated? so those bayer and gel tablets won't work? |
