Quote from rstarre:I know it been years since they pulled it off the market. I know the lawsuits involved. I for one had been on it for 6 months. Since then I have had health problems. They think I have Fibromyalgia. Supposed a muscle/tendon disease. But there is no real test for this. I hury everyday, I am stiff and I must take pain meds everyday to function. Some people died from Baycol and others did get another serious muscle disease. but I'm just wondering for people like me, who weren't on it for that long of time are surrering from some other type of muscluar/skeletal disease that may have been caused by Baycol?
They tried me on Baycol after I couldn't take Lipitor, HOLY cow, I thought I was going to fall over and croak on it. The Lipitor gave me very severe GI problems, but the Baycol made me feel like a cripple. I was only on it for about 4 months, half of that time only 3 days a week, but I still could barely make it to the end of my driveway to check the mail and come back. I had to rest for a few minutes so I could climb the 8 stairs to get up to my backdoor. I told the dr. that stuff was awful and said it should be taken off the market, but he said it was just me. Well, 8 months after I dumped it is when it was taken off the market, so I guess it wasn't just me. It took me a good 6 months till I got my strength back, but man, the pain on that stuff was really unbareable, so I feel for ya. Your problems might be due to it, but did U experience the pain while on it, or is this something new? Baycol has been off the market a long time now, but that doesn't mean your problem didn't start with it. Hope U start to feel better, and make the dr. get to the root of your pain.
Good luck......
