Autism/Vaccine info in the Media (Autism board)

6th July 2005
I'm glad I'm not alone! Sometimes I go to "blog" sites where they pretty much trash us parents and "autism experts" saying we're "conspiracy theorists" and just want some one to sue for $$$! If it was just the Autism issue, I might question it myself, but read on:

Quote from Dallas Morning News: "U.S. regulators (FDA) failed to stop Merck & Co. from misleading doctors about the heart risks of the Vioxx painkiller before it was pulled from the market last year in the biggest-ever drug withdrawal, U.S. lawmakers said today."

AND
Quote:"The lawsuit, filed in New York State Supreme Court, said Glaxo suppressed four studies that failed to demonstrate the drug was effective in treating children and adolescents and suggested a possible increase of suicidal thinking and acts.
It also said an internal 1999 Glaxo document showed that the company intended to "manage the dissemination of data in order to minimize any potential negative commercial impact." "

AND
Quote:"But over the past seven years, nine of those new prescription drugs have been taken off the market because they're too dangerous.
Drugs like Bextra, Rezulin, Baycol and Vioxx are gone now, but had all been approved by the Food and Drug Administration
"The FDA is not doing a very good job regulating the drug industry," Dr. Wolfe said.
Dr. Wolfe blames the Food and Drug administration for allowing drugs to come on the market that shouldn't, and then not acting fast enough to take them off the market if there are problems."

OF COURSE
"The federal drug safety agency is doing an outstanding job of protecting the public, the White House chief of staff said Sunday. " :jester:

I was acctually looking for an article I read recently in the paper bout some prescription drug that the pharma co. was promoting to doctors to RX for infants with reflux, all while the FDA was "negotiating" with them about labeling it as "NOT" for infants/children.

My question is- What does it tell you when the FDA has to negotiate with pharma co?!?

It's not just vaccines, it's everything.

Sorry so long :blob_fire I just get hoppin' mad and fired up!
