Let me tell you my family and I have been through this ordeal. Sounds like your boyfriend has a really severe case though. My dad started with this and got boils all over. He got treated and then they came back. He would have it happen again and again every few months. Finally he got some so bad that they had to hospitalize him as they were deep on his stomach. After he got an IV in with the right medicine they cleared up and have not been back since. My brother, me, and my mom have caught it also. My mom and brother have only had one or two boils ever. I was having more problems than them. I had recurrences. The doctors werent much help so I put bactroban in my nostrils twice a day for 6 months and I seem to be better now. We will see if it comes back. I dont know why the medicine isnt keeping it at bay for at least a few months. I hope he gets the treatment he needs to get rid of this nasty bug.

I am so glad I found this board. I have been trying to figure out my daughter's "spots" for months. We were started on bactroban at the doctor's 2 monthes ago, but it only kept them at bay, and heaven forbid I should forget... she would get MORE! Our regular doctor gave up and sent us to a dermatologist(PA), who, without a biopsy couldn't/wouldn't say so she sent us to the head dermatologist... we were to wait 3 weeks for an appointment! I found this board the day we came home as well as the cure this same day! Since, no doctor could or would prescribe anything further, I needed something to help her. We found studies on howGARLIC HELPS MRSA. I went out and bought a bottle, figured out her dose (smaller for a child) and gave it to her that night WITH her BACTROBAN ointment. OVERNIGHT I saw this HUGE difference... It is one week today that she has been on it and they are fading to nothing! I plan on showing her to the doctor soon! I swear, that my conclusion of MRSA and of and being led to it's cure were directly from God... when everyone else gave up on us! I sure hope this helps someone. Don't neglect your other antibiotics as the studies seem to indicate they work together and one strengthens the other.
