I am not a war veteran just a plain citizen. For the past two years my innie navel (which makes it more difficult to heal I think) has been "vomiting" a clear discharge and a bit of blood.
For nearly a long time it smelled horrible, nowadays it doesn't but still concerns me as I see a patch of red tissue that appears to have a bubble (didn't have it before). Before it was deeper.
For many months I also had pain in it but after several months my GP sent me to the hospital to have an echo/ultrasound but that did not revel anything like a hernia or tumor (pfew!).
Then it went away for several months and I felt wonderful. Unfortunately all good things come to an end and for the past 4 months my navel has been bleeding again.
Afraid to visit the doctor because both times I went for that they just poked their fingers on my navel as if it was some endless pit, that hurts a lot!
Originally the doctor prescribed me a Iodine solution, which I used for nearly 8 months without success. I wonder if that affected my thyroid hormone levels due to absorbtion.
I clean it with water peroxide, if I have extra discomfort such as a "needle feeling" then I also apply bactroban (anti-bacterial). No matter what I do it is not drying, keeps on emiting that watery stuff with some blood.
