Just dx'd with PLS (ALS - Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis board)

20th December 2007
I was just dx'd yesterday, after 3 1/2 years of problems. I would like to hear from anyone else that has this, and compare some symptoms to see if it's accurate. I can say I started in 6/2004 with a partial seizure out of the blue, then went into a rather severe breathing problem for about 5 months. After which I felt very weak and continued to get weaker. I started falling alot, and within a couple of months started the pain. Within a year of the seizure, I was falling, in pain, constant limp, very weak mainly on left side, and pretty much would work, and then spend the rest of the day sitting. In 11/05 they reduced my work schedule from 40 hours to 20 hours, that lasted 6 months, and I haven't worked since 5/1/06. Now I use a cane, wear a brace on my left foot, ankle, and leg, mainly from drop foot. The spasms are bad, but I'm now on baclofen. They finally gave that to me after my husband and I complained about how bad I would shake the bed, from the spasms. My life is pretty much bed, my recliner, let's not forget the 110 trips to the bathroom each day. Well this is a very quick glimpse of me. I'm hoping to hear from someone, thank you to all.
