discomfort and ejaculation (Men's Health board)

21st May 2006
Axell:
Your urethra runs from your bladder to the tip of your penis (glans). Often times it gets irritated towards the glans. From my own experience, it gets red near the urethral opening on the glans. I have found it useful to just use an ointment of some sort to soothe that inflammation, especially after ejaculation when the ejaculate has ceased. It makes the burning go away. I personally have used an antibiotic ointment. Since you are from Denmark, and I am from the States, brand names will be different. You can ask your Pharmacist for Bacitracin or a tripple antibiotic such as Neosporin. Also, there is a good healing ointment called Aquafor that tends to help.

I was merely trying to help you with your situation. If it does not sound like good advice to you, then don't take it.

You have already been to a Urologist and have been tested for the obvious. They are trained to recognize an enlarged prostate, which would be indicative of a possible cancer. If you are concerned of cancer, have him draw blood and run PSA levels to be certain. Short of placing a large gauge catheter up your urethra into your bladder to take a look at what's going on with a camera, there is nothing else they can do. I can tell you, I have been catheterizing with a medium gauge catheter six plus times a day for the past three years to urinate, and in the beginning it was very painful. I don't see you subjecting yourself to this when it seems to me to be a simple case of urethritis or balantitis, which is often relieved using an ointment as I suggested above.

Good Luck,
CancerDad
