Sorry...another MGD/ Blepharitis Question (Eye & Vision board)

18th May 2005
Ting-
i I honestly don't know the answer to your question. For me, there is a very gray line between posterior bleph and MGD. I don't really know the difference. I thought MGD caused posterior bleph. I do think that there is a bacterial component to the bleph which is why, for me at least, scrubs seem to help some. I know that my eyes get very oily and if I do a mid-day wash in addition to morning and afternoon- my eyes feel better too. Using an pintment like Bacitracin also helps me every once in awhile. I use Cetaphil or Oil of Olay, but a very small amount on a cotton pad. I do have some lid edema but it is mostly resolved after a warm shower in the AM.

Since I have ocluar rosacea, I am trying a new thing that I heard about on another board. I am using Tea Tree shampoo and applying it to my scalp, eyebrows and eyes (closed of course) Tea tree is supposed to be a natural anti-microbial and antifungal. Thought if I had bacteria of any kind- it wouldn't hurt. So far so good

Amy

P.S.
I'm doing better again guys!! :D
