I have had white disharge coming from the outer corners of my eyes for years. I t didnt hurt and my eyes didnt bother me it was more of a cosmetic problem for me. I went to an opthamologist this summer and he said I had bacteria in my eyelids and put me on bacitracin ointment. After about a week on this ointment I started to get uncontrolled white discharge all along my eyelids so I stopped taking the ointment. He then put me on blephamide which is a corticosteroid antibiotic I would use it and after a while the effects would wear off and I would get this discharge all over my eyelids again. He put me on a short course of Doxy 50 mg 2x/day and this seemed to help alittle but after 3 weeks he said this is as good as you're gonna get and cut the doxy to once a day until after about 3 weeks I had none left. I immediately started having the discharge all over my eyelids again. so I went to another doctor who made some corny joke telling me that the difference between true love and blepharitis is that only blepharitis lasts forever. I wanted to kill him and whats scary is he's written many papers on the subject. Now I'm on my own doing compresses 2/day and eating Thera Tears Nutrition 2 pills 3 times daily by my own design. I don't necessarily have a problem with dry eyes like some of the others on these boards but I can't get this discharge thing totally under control. It's really disturbing because before I saw a doctor I was mostly fine. By the way I am a 29 year old male. I figure that it's MGD but don't know where to turn now any help would be appreciated.
