   Azilect (Parkinson's Disease board)

23rd June 2008
I have Parkinsons and have been on Azilect for a year. I don't know whether I would be worse without it, but believe that it is helpful for slowing PD. Be sure that you read the literature on it because it can cause problems with certain foods and medications.

I've been on Azilect about five months. I can't tell if it does anything except take a bite out of the pocketbook ($50 copay) but the literature is promising so I'll stick with it for now.

Is anyone being prescribed Azilect since the news came out on June 16th?

My Dr also put me on Azilect, I have chosen to go on LDN - Low Dose Naltrone instead. There is some promising research done on it....check it out!

My husband takes it in addition to Sinemet. He was actually in a PD study group, which lead him to taking the Azilect, in addition to the Sinemet.

Have you seen an improvement taking it? My husband has improved.

Good luck. :)

My husband has been taking the Azilect for about 3 months now.
I don't know if it's our imagination or wishful thinking, but I see
an improvement and so does he. He says he feels better in general,
and he seems a little more like his "old self" to me. He also seems
to think that it has helped his depression.
