   Parkinsons elderly (Parkinson's Disease board)

Mom had been given Aricept for awhile, but it didn't help her. Mom didn't get Aricept, but had Azilect, which is extremely expensive. She now resides in a care facility because she just needs to have someone keep watch on her as she still believes she can walk, and tries to get out of bed, and would fall. She was living on her own until Labor Day of last year and was falling up to three times a day and the EMT's would come and pick her up. She ended up in the ER with multiple fractures, as they told her that she was going to be put in protective custody if she didn't go in and get evaluated. She still won't admit she has PD.
Thanks a million for the prayers, and trust you and your Mom are in mine as well. God bless, Rosemary;)

Rosemary,
I just thought about one of your post when I mentioned aricept and then you spoke of azilect. I am not familier with that drug but looked up and saw it was a PD med. What I am talking aout is aricept which is for alzheimers. Mom does not have alzheimers but her doctor said it would help with the dementia she was experiencing. I will say is has done great her memory is 90% better.
