Link between Drugs and dreams? (Lupus board)

23rd March 2007
Hello All!

I have S.L.E (Lupus). Every-night I experience terrible dreams. I have found that the dreams have began since I started taking the medication for my illness which has been for the last three and half years!

Here is a list of the medication I take:

Fluoxetine Capsules
Alendronic Acid Tablets
Azathioprine Tablets
Pariet (Rabeprazole Sodium)
Propranolol
Prednisolone Tablets
Lisinopril Tablets

Do any of you take any of the above medication? If so what effects have you experienced, if any?

Any feedback would be great. Thank you!

Hi Diane. I take several of the meds or similar meds that you are on. I don't take Fluoxetine (Prozac) but you might ask your dr. if that can cause the dreams. I do take Alendronic (Fosamax), Azathioprine or Imuran is a drug that my rheumy is testing me for right now to see if I can take it. I was going to post a msg asking of others experiences taking it. Rabeprazole is like Nexium and Prevacid, I believe, and are for acid- reflux and I've taken Prevacid but now on Nexium. Haven't taken Propranolol which is for high blood pressure but have taken Enalapril which is like Lisinopril also for high blood pressure. Prednisolone is a corticosteroid and I'm on Prednisone as well as Plaquinal and just off of several yrs of Methotrexate due to liver toxicity.

Hope you can get over the bad dreams. Getting to sleep is hard enough sometimes without having it disrupted that way!

KJ
