The doctors ask you a couple of questions about your symptoms. Usually people with migraines have sensitivity to light and sound, aura's, they feel nauseous, and things like that. It goes more in-depth than that, but that's the general idea.
No big testing.
There are medications you can take usually after you get the first symptoms of a migraine. I take Imitrex, or if I don't have that, Axert, which is basically the same thing, with a lower dosage.
They have all different meds with different dosages because this medication is extremely powerful. Imtrex knocks me out, but as long as the pain is gone, I'm happy. The better of the two is Axert though, it helps just as quickly, but I'm not sick to my stomach afterward.
Ask your doctor though, they can tell you what's right for you.
BUT if you get a choice, you should ask for Axert or Imitrex.
