Hi girlgato. I suffer from migraines (I think it's perimenopausal) but like you, the dr's say no. I'm 39. I took Topomax, 75 mg. a day, for the headaches. I didn't find any relief from this medication. The biggest side effect is how stupid you start to get. Another poster had referred to it as "Dopamax" and I totally agree with that. My husband would have to help me think of the simplest words. It was terrible. I stop using it about a month and a half ago and I feel so much better. I also take Wellbutrin and Lamictal (bipolar) and Axert for the migraines. Best of luck to you :) .
