SAY NOTHING. Although Jayhawk is absolutely right about the disabilities act and you are NOT required to say anything....sometimes we feel we have to- or we feel that we have a 'family" at work and that they will understand. TRUST ME they will NOT understand and eventually it will get used against you. If you are reading all the posts on this board, you will see a member who has been going thru something similar and her story ends with her putting in her notice. I too, didnt tell my boss when I was hired that I had JUST been dx with MS and instead waited until I had a pretty bad relapse and broke down telling him the truth...maybe it was the solumedrol, but whatever it was, he started watching me with new eyes and word got out..he told one manager, who told someone in her department, next thing I know the whole company is watching me to see if I was dying or something..it made things really uncomfortable.
To overcome this, I worked three times harder then was necessary, broke all sales quotas and did an incredible job...in return, I was told that I needed to work even harder THIS year in order to keep up my winning streak. IM exhausted, Im frustrated, and Im killing myself trying to please a man who cant be pleased..Im also job hunting.
Trust no one at this point..you cannot be fired for being sick. The people you confide in are family/close friends and US...we understand! Hang in there because this too, will pass.

PS Forgot to address your question about meds. Some people do get given DMDs (Betaseron, Rebif, Copaxone or Avonex) when their docs are 95% sure of it being MS but not entirely sure; however even those drugs DO NOT help with symtoms...the drugs arent designed to help. They are designed to stop new attacks, new lesions from forming and thus give you less relapses...I was dx with MS really quick with over 50 lesions and a completely numb, tingling hand and fingers...been on Rebif for almost 18 months now...my hand hurts exactly the same way as it did when I woke up that one fateful day....DMDs do not help existing problems- so forget the shots...in the meantime, there are meds (pills) which will help the symtoms..talk to your Neuro about muscle relaxers or anxiety drugs..they both help!
