28th January 2008 i am currently on avonex lokking for new therapy any one can give there input on other therapy's please post your knowledge on them 28th January 2008 Can I ask why you are looking for a new therapy? And, how long have you been on Avonex?
The reason I ask is because if your doctor is taking you off Avonex, that changes quite a bit...Rebif is the same drug, administered differently in a slightly higher dose. If you are handling Avonex ok, but need something stronger, I highly recommend Rebif....however, if you are NOT handling Avonex due to liver problems or any of the other reasons why it doesnt work for some people, then both Rebif and Betaseron are out of the question, leaving you with Copaxone. Copaxone is the only MS Therapy (besides Tysabri) which is NOT an interferon. What makes you want to change therapy? Can you tell us more about why you are seeking this information? If you do, we can give you more feedback. In the meantime, if you search on healthboards under the different therapy drugs (Betaseron, Rebif, Copaxone or Avonex,) youll find TONS of information that people have posted recently on each one.. Hope this helps you a little. Nikki |
