Hi to all.
I'm posting here because this seems to be where most of the sinus issues come up, and plus I'm wondering if I have allergies.
There are a few things going on with this "sinus infection" that may or may not be related; any suggestions would be very helpful.
Started out in October-had a sinus infection- two weeks, took amoxicillin, and it went away. Moved from Oregon to Georgia. Landed in Georgia in early November. Stayed in the rain one day, cold rain one night, and then another sinus infection came on(not supposed to catch colds from that???, listen to your mom lol). Took amoxicillin 10 days, felt better for about 2 days, sinus pressure, fatigue, rundown feeling came back. Went to another doc, got some steriod type pills(i think???), only took two of 5, and felt better.
For a whole entire month I felt great.
Now this gets interesting. Caught some knid of virus I'm assuming, and I stay up all night in the bathroom doing what you could imagine. That subsides, feel like I'm getting better in 3-4 days, and then an EXTREME fatigue hits, and I figure that I'm getting over the virus, or I have a diseese, which I don't but I was truley concerned for a while. The fatigue was really strange, just felt like I never got better. But then I did. Felt about 50% for two days, and then a sinus infection comes on.
went back to the doc, and he agrees sinus infection. Took avelox, saline wash, and allerx- did absolutley nothing for me.
Finally I tried that upside down flooding one night, and released ALOT of mucus, mostly clear white, and not all that thick. Felt like it brought on a cold again, which I expected, and for two days, I was constantly blowing my nose. Then post nasal drip started. All the while I'm feelling moderately well. Continued with infrequent floodings and neti-pots.
But I still have sinus pressure. My nose feels quite clear, still some PND, and a flooding tonight produced very little mucus.
I took some pseudoephidrine today, which is hard for me to tolerate. So My face fells like me more, even my parents think so, but I'm still congested, and tired. It's hard to tell being on this ephedrine HCL stuff.
I know this is long-winded, and if youv'e read this far, thanks.
So do you think I have allergies? There has never been any green-yellow, or slightly discolored mucus. But antihistimines do nothing for me, just make me more tired. Thinking about seeing an allergy/sinus specialist tommorow.
What should I ask for? Last time was just a bunch of over-the-counter type stuff.
Oh- and I've had an abcessed tooth for a year. That may be the source, if it is a sinus infection? I'm getting it taken out soon. Felt a light liquid swish in my ear today, nothing painful. Just at my wits end hear.
Currently depressed about the state of my sinuses, but otherwise ok-
Thanks, your the only one listening lol
