which antibiotic did they give you?
I, too, am suffering from chronic sinusitis, and it really, really stinks. It is the source of my brain fog, sinus pressure, dizziness, etc. I can control symptoms through medications and irrigation, but that won't get rid of the infection -it jut sits there and waits for another opportunity.
This all started because I had bad structural problems in my nose -a really deviated septum, bone spur, etc. Now the tissue is so screwed up, that my sinuses don't work properly.
Chiggins,
I took Augmentin for 14 days (Along with Allegra which I had to stop taking because one of the side effects is dizzyness!) He tried to put me on Avelox and you and I both know how awful that stuff is. I then took Bactrim for four weeks. I was also given Singulair.
I too have a deviated septum and that doesn't help. The bad thing about having the "chronic" version of all this is the fact that you and I will probably fight it the rest of our lives. The brain fog and dizzyness has never (so far anyway,,,) come back like it did before I took all the antibiotics, but I will occassionally have a bad day where I just don't feel completely balanced. Today is one of those days. I am not dizzy - I just don't feel 100%
My doctor told me to exercise more, don't smoke - which I don't, and use a personal inhaler which I bought and it seems to help alot on days like today. You might want to try that to see if it helps you at all.
My CAT scan showed the infection way deep in my upper sinus's, and that's why I had to take the antibiotics so long. I feel for you,,,you and are in the same boat!
