I have been to the ER twice in the past two weeks. I'm 34 years old and have been having chest pain, tachycardia, shortness of breath and very high blood pressure. It woke me up twice, prompting the two ER visits. On arrival to the ER my blood pressure was 190/123 and 192/130 and my pulse rate was 180. I have a history of high blood pressure and have been on meds since my 20's. BUT I have never had anything like this happen to me. Nothing of note was found at the ER but I was referred to a Cardiologist. She has put me on 75 mg of Avapro and 50 mg of Metatolol (beta blocker). I have been on this for 4 days and my blood pressure still keeps spiking and my heart rate keeps going really high. It happens at the strangest times, when I am resting etc.
I feel horrible and I'm still waiting on the results of my 48 hour holter moniter. I have no idea what is wrong with me and I'm really afraid. I also should mention my thyroid levels were normal along with all other blood work. The only thing they found, which they think has nothing to do with this is a hemangioma on my liver (due to hormones I think??)
I can't do anything without my heart racing, I'm a mother of 3 and this is wearing me out. ANY IDEAS?????
