Hey there =)
Well I stopped spiro for 6 months and didn't notice a big diference in my skin (it never ever made me clear even with BC or Avandia at 150mg - 200mg) so I didn't think it mattered. Yet for me, it matters in terms of blocking DHT activity so when I stopped, i started growing back (and more) the body hair that had lessened over the 6 years that I had been using it. So I'm back on it and have an apt with an Endocrinologist in September to check my hormone levels and get a new prescription. Of course, my goal is to switch to natural DHT inhibitors, but for now I've gotta use something that I know works for this. ;-)
As for Diane, it uses CPA or cyproterone acetate and this has been shown to be effective for short term, but during the long term (like years) Spironolactone has been found to be the most effect anti-androgen. So you can try it and see what happens. Perhaps you didn't need as much to begin with =)
Best of luck
