Sounds like your GI guy is every bit as brilliant as the one I saw. Lyrica's an anticonvulsant, not an antidepressant. I think it's an ego thing. He wants you to have IBS so bad just like mine did. Shame you can't get back at yours as good as I did. :D I still wonder how hard the anesthesiologist and the hospital came down on him over that little idiotic blunder. I still haven't heard a peep out of him. He said he'd be in touch.
Went to the gp with my dad today to see about his bp. It's gotten out of control since mom went in the hospital. I guess the gp really trusts my judgment. He asked what I thought would be best for my dad. I told him to double his avalide and add one metropolol at night. He wrote the scripts and told me to bring him dad's bp log in a week. He's also going to see if he can't get mom transferred either here to town if her pulmonary function's good enough or just over the mountain if she still needs a pulmonologist.
I got a copy of yesterday's labs too. The acidosis looks like it's under control. Excellent numbers. My bicarb's come up considerably and the chloride, phosphorus and potassium are all smack in the middle of the range. The Phos-Nak seems to be working. But, now I also see why he told me when he gave me the meter that he wants me eating every two hours. Sugar went from 127 when I got up to 68 three hours later when I had the blood drawn. I seem to be riding a sugar rollercoaster. Might explain why I've been feeling so crappy. With all that's been going on, I've been neglecting that little piece of advice lately. I left out of there famished (I hate fasting labs and tests) and hit the fridge as soon as I got to the shop and shot it up to 175 by noon.
Still don't have the bone density results. The nurses haven't gotten around to filing the stack of reports yet. I heard this from the lab lady yesterday. She said they're way behind. The receptionist (she sits by the fax machine) said she saw it come in early this week.
Sorry you have to go another two weeks on that stuff. I only took it for two days before the gp told me not to take any more. He was appalled at the GI's diagnosis of IBS. The lyrica's a class V drug here. You might be able to get it on your signature depending on your states laws. I'm sure it's available in the uk. Where are you going?
