I was bitten severely about a month ago while breaking up a fight between (my) two cats. My left hand became very swollen and I went to the ER the following morning where I was given a strong IV antibiotic and then given Augmentin which I took for two weeks. The infection went away and the three bite wounds healed. Today, however, I woke up with my hand swollen again. No fever, no pain, and the swelling has gone down quite a bit, with the application of cold compresses. Does anyone else have any kind of experience with this? I absolutely do not want to face the ER again!
