   poorly controlled asthma (Asthma board)

8th January 2007
Hi Everyone

I am a married, 46 year old mother of 2 children who has had asthma for almost ll years. The first six years of having asthma I had afew problems a year. Since moving about an hour west of where I was living I have had several visits and admissions to hospital each year for the last 5 years. I have developed acid reflux, irritable bowel syndrome and a slight vocal cord dysfunction. The breathing tests show that I have mild asthma. All the doctors say that all the medical problems make the asthma worse. I have had other opinions and am seeking another opionion because I find my asthma makes me sick so much it effects what I can do. I take advair 500-50flovent 500, atrovent when needed, ventalin when needed, flonase, reactine for allergies and prednisone quite often. I am fed up with asthma and why I have so many attacks.

Hi Everyone

I am having breathing problems again today. I have had alot of problems with my stomach due to prednisone in the last two weeks. I am frustrated because I know I usually have to go on prednisone when I have a problem. I am on maximum inhalers right now. I take advair 500-50, extra flovent to try to stay off prednisone, ventalin and atrovent. Anyone else experience ongoing breathing problems?
Let me know.
