Does it ever end???? (Asthma board)

27th May 2005
I've already decided, no....well at least not anytime soon. This raging battle has been going on with my daughter since she was 2 months old. At 2 months, my daughter began breathing treatments with Xopenex. At 4 months old, she was on Singular and 1/2 tsp. of Zyrtec. By the time my baby was 1, she was having her first skin allergy tests done. They proved to be very positive. She had the immuno studies done and her IgE was very high, especially for a 1 year old. The day after her first birthday, she was admitted to the hospital (for the 2nd time) and stayed 2 weeks because her o2 was so low. At 14 months old, she had tubes put in her ears and her adnoids taken out. At age 1 1/2, she was already taking 2 tsp. of Zyrtec at night and Claritin in the morning. That didn't help her at all. She finally started taking Viravan twice a day and that helps some. Right after her 2nd birthday, she started taking allergy shots twice a week, which she is still on. She had her 2nd surgery the week before her 3rd birthday. They took out her tonsils and did a complete sinus surgery. The week after her 3rd birthday, they did the 2nd stage of the sinus surgery. She had her 4th and 5th surgeries (a second round of sinus surgeries) around her 4th birthday in Feb.
This is a run down of her testing, doctors and meds:
She has 4 doctors. Her pediatrician, her asthma and allergy doctor, a pediatric pulmonologist, a pediatric ENT specialist.
She has had 5 of the skin allergy tests and they are looking to do another one soon.
She was tested for CF.
She has had immuno studies several times.
She has been in the hospital 11 times and surgery 5 times.
She takes allergy shots twice a week since she was 2 years old.
She is on Singular; Prevacid, twice daily; Viravan, twice daily; Atrovent; Xopenex; Rhinocort; Astelin; Advair diskus 250mg twice daily.

My baby just turned 4 on Feb 23.

I think I've covered her history, sometimes it is so overwhelming, it gets a little fuzzy, KWIM? My main reason for posting all of this is too see if there is something out there that we aren't trying. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
