Question about Advair and a Nebulizer... (Asthma board)

18th December 2004
Ok, well I had only taken one dose of the Advair before I found out I was getting the nebulizer. I am not going to take the Advair and the Neb because the pharmicist said that the meds the doc gave me for the neb (Albuterol and Atrovent) are similar to the Advair and that I didnt need to take both. I used the Neb for the first time tonight and omg it really opens me up and I feel breathing is much easier. I look forward to trying it in the AM when I wake up I am sure I will feel so much better. I am supposed to use it three times a day so I think when I first wake up then around 2pm and then again around 10pm (My biggest complaint with my asthma was that I had issues at night and in the am) so I amm really hoping this helps. I was told to keep my rescue inhaler for emergencies still though. I also take singulair and Zyrtec, hoping all this together really helps me feel better. Only thing I noticed was I got really shakey and a little light headed while doing the neb but was told this is very normal. My dad is a Firefighter/EMT so I took it to his station since he was working and did the treatment there since I was nervous about using it also there was a Cardiac Tech there tonight at his station and he also sat in with us while I did it to reassure me. I am really glad my doc agreed to let me try this route...
