I got my at home Neb tonight!!! (Asthma board)

Quote from neener5151:
When I first got my at home nebulizer, I was excited about it. I thought, YAY, no more trips to the emergency room. It was all dandy at first. They put me on Albuterol solution for it that made me shake like crazy. My doctor wanted me to do it TEN times a day. They take about 15 - 20 minutes per treatment. Can you imagine doing 10 of those a day, plus taking 11 other medications???? That's right, ten!! It's funny, but I started smoking Newport cigarettes and now I don't take any medication and my asthma is fine! I felt like my doctor was overdosing me on something I didn't need.

So only take if when you need it, the doctor isn't around you enough to know when you need it and don't need it. So if they say, do it 5 or 10 times a day (which is rediculous) and you find yourself not needing it that many times, don't do it that many times!!

Are you sure he said 10? I have severe asthma and I do DuoNeb (albuterol and atrovent) three times a day regardless of how I'm feeling and when I need it. But my doctor said that if I'm using it more than that or if three treatments in a row don't help, to either call him or go to the ER...
