I have 2 questions for those of you who have been happy with the Singulair. First, did it take time before it started working for you? Second, do any of you have indoor allergies in addition to the outdoor ones (mine are dust, mold, and feathers)?
I've been having a terrible time since I had a really bad cold 5 weeks ago. Up to that point, all I had was indoor/outdoor allergies, and Zyrtec D and Nasacort were working fine. The cold never really seemed to go away, and now I've been diagnosed with cough-variant asthma in addition to the allergies.
The doc took me off the Zyrtec D, and put me on Singulair, Nasacort, and Atrovent (nasal spray). I have only been on the Singulair for 2 days, but it does not seem to be helping my nasal allergy symptoms nearly as well as the Zyrtec did. In fact, it's not really working at all. I'm still coughing too.
I'd really like to give the Singulair a chance, since it theoretically would work for the asthma and the allergies, but I'm really suffering right now.
Thanks.
