Caduet vs Lipitor and Toprol XL (High & Low Blood Pressure board)

3rd September 2006
Carlent,

Since Caduet is a combo of amlodipine (Norvasc) and atorvastatin (Lipitor,) you certainly don't need the extra Liipitor.
If I were you I'd take ONLY the caduet, not the Toprol, and see if it works well enough.

Personally I think that combining a cholesterol med with a blood pressure med in one pill is bad medicine par excellence...just another device to extend expiring patents and charge the big bucks
.
What's next; aspirin, thiazide and cancer chemo...oh plus Viagra?:blob_fire

If the Caduet alone doesn't work well enough, stop taking it...don't add to it.
