Does anyone have any ideas? I guess I'll just hand it to them, but I know by the way he was acting that SOMETHING was up when I confronted him on it.

Atenolol (50MG tablets/round/beta blocker) is a small, white pill with a capital "M" on one side and "231" (in very small numbers) on the reverse side. I take Atenolol myself for high blood pressure. It sounds like the same pill to me but I am not an expert. Atenolol is non-narcotic.
