I took my 15yr old to the Dr the other day, she had round circle rash all over her legs. He said to give her Benadryl......but she has been on it for awhile.... Dr wanted to give her valium for anxiety attacks but I didn't want her on that, he said give her benadryl at bedtime to help her sleep.

Well she was on it at the time her rash broke out ... probably 10 days prior to the rash. It cleared up a little on her legs now its on her arms. Her hands are beginning to swell up, both of them!

He isn't sure what triggered this allergic reaction....but Im concerned with the swelling of the hands. Its sunday and the office is closed. What should I do? Also she is very itchy and she tries really hard not to scratch.

Could she possibly be having a reaction to the Benadryl? She just started it like I said 10days prior to this rash breaking out. Should I tell her not to take anymore to see if that helps? It does have the Red dye in it.

Also to the people who take ATARAX, if you take this can you eat things that set off your allergic reaction?
