Tell your parents that this doctor is ridiculous and you need a new one ASAP! I suffered like you are at 16, and it started when I was 12. I kept seeing IDIOT doctors and didn't know any better. I had some recommend Midol (might as well be baby aspirin), and some who said I had a (low pain tolerance, or didn't handle pain well). What a crock!
FINALLY, in college, I met a GREAT nurse practitioner. After several episodes of seeing me in so much pain, she said, "I think you have endometriosis." I went to an OBGYN who dealt with endo, and sure enough, I have SEVERE ENDOMETRIOSIS.
Do not suffer as long as I did. I didn't know any better, and didn't know what to do. Find a pelvic pain specialist, and only agree to the exploratory laparoscopy with someone who can "excise", not just "laser" endo......VERY IMPORTANT!. I would be shocked if you didn't have it! You sound like you are also having "ovulation pain" also called middlesmertch. That is very common with endo.
The problem with endo is that is does not show up on any tests: ultrasounds, MRI's, CAT scans, blood work, pelvic exams, ect. So you have to have a doctor that will listen to you and take your pain seriously. Do some research and get a new doctor TODAY. Endo can cause infertility, especially if it goes untreated and out of control for a long time. Tell you parents that it is very important that you see a new doctor ASAP.
Good Luck My Friend! Please keep me posted!
