Today I saw my asthma/allergy specialist, and my pulminary function test was normal--again. My last one was normal too. And yet I have symptoms of asthma: tightness in my chest, feeling like I am breathing through a straw, achy chest, and waking up at night with attacks. My doctor said I probably have mild asthma but that I am very sensitive to the symptoms of it. In otherwords, the pulminary function test can't detect it, but my body can. Has anyone else been told something similar? Or could something else be going on that mimics asthma symptoms? I am already on Asmanex, and today the doctor added Singulair, but I still left the doctor's office feeling very discouraged, like it is all in my head because the tests can't detect anything wrong.
