Well, NightAngel, we all have to consider our options or alternatives. W/osteoporosis there aren't a lot of options for many of us. At this point I have only one other option to Forteo, the infusable bisphosphonate pamidronate (Aredia). The option of some clinical trial is not available to me in this area. Therefore, it wouldn't be too smart of me to stop the Forteo at this point. First, I would have to be more confident that the weight gain and/or spare tire really is most likely caused by the Forteo. And then I would have to weigh which is less acceptable to me the weight gain/spare tire or the loss of 4 hours every 3 months for a drug that is not as effective as Forteo in restoring bone quality.
