My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1998. Last September, she was again diagnosed with the disease, in her lymph node.
Just 2 months ago her doctor took her off the chemotherapy--he said he thought she was doing great, but she needed to heal a compression fracture in her back which was being aggrivated by the chemo.
Today she went back to the doctor for a treatment of Aredia. Her doctor found another (or the same) lump under her arm--the size of a quarter. He says he's sure it is cancer and they'll go after it with radiation.
I am so depressed about this and don't know where to turn. This is the 2nd or 3rd time I've dealt with this (depending on how this recurrence is classified).
