Hi, Megpat - Thanks for your reply. I am taking Plaquenil, Arava, Prednisone, and the Kineret. Kineret is a daily injection. I've also tried Remicade, Enbrel, Humira and methotrexate. The methotrexate was the only thing that seemed to do any good, and it was messing with my kidneys so I had to quit it.
I have run the whole gamut of available medications. Oh, and Minocycline, which is a tetracycline. I'm just hoping the Kineret will do something.
Kineret is a DMARD, but it works differently than the others, so I'm hoping it will work for me!
Plaquenil scares me a little because I've heard it can cause eye problems, but really, all this stuff is bad so I guess Plaquenil is no worse than the rest. This disease is not for sissies. LOL!
I'm sorry you have this thing so young. So many young people seem to have it, especially women. At least I don't have a family to cook and clean for, it's just me and my hubby (and our cats) so I guess I'm pretty lucky. It just gets really discouraging sometimes, as I'm sure you know.
